I might be in the minority here, but given the near legendary status of this album and the hype around the official release, I found the performances on here dissapointing. To me, it sounded more like a rehearsal, jam or demos than a finished product.

I bought it back in the day mainly for the stereo mixes.

It’s 4 years later, and I finally took the plunge, because it was a clearance item, which, shockingly, was discounted to 50%, and when it’s price is $300CDN, half-price is a major bargain, especially when you consider how seriously overpriced new Beatles product has become, and Universal Music product in general. The store in question was Canadian chain Sunrise Records, and I can’t say for sure if it was chain-wide, but I’m glad to have found it so affordably priced!

Well on 1/4" tape 30 ips is probably better. I still prefer 15Ips on 2 inch.

To me, Meet the Beatles is superior to With the Beatles. Replacing the covers with more hits improved on it. Plus, the cover is way cooler. And, finally, it’s the one that won my heart as a kid.

I remember stereo mixes that had random voices and instruments panned hard left or right. So you had lead vocal, bass and drums hard left and guitars, bee gees and keys hard right or something like that. That would have been Capitol as I am in Canada.

Definitely not The Beatles fault he didn't gain Beatle-esque fame and fortune after his experience with them.

I love Jimmy! He's my favorite artist. Who were those weird beatnick lads he sat in with. They prolly fell apart without the jimster. Typical.

In a video where Jimmy is playing on tour with the Beatles the band sat down for a short interview. Jimmy was asked the usual questions, Then when asked about Ringo Jimmy said. As far as Ringo goes I am just sitting in for him, I could never replace Ringo. This video was on their 1990's mega Beatles Biography when they put out John's song Free as a bird.

This was a very enjoyable video.

This was like listening to a Beatle's folk tale. Poor guy could have been treated a bit better. They did no more than they needed to for him. Course he did keep running off!

I was amazed how riveting it was to watch the reels unwind. We used to store our safety reels tails out, and everyone hated the extra effort, but it really does cut way down on cross talk. Excellent video!

Nícol never thought he could replace Ringo forever. That's a BS statement and I'm pretty surprised that you would say that. This channel has always had grounded and real content. I have read quite a bit about Nicole, and I have never heard him say that he thought he would replace Ringo. He definitely wished that the experience could have gone on and his time with Lennon, McCartney and Harrison did end abruptly.
